"Basically, the Best Investment" - Installing a 30' Pool with LBL on a JD x700
Doug from Indianapolis has been putting his Little Buck Loader to the test since he bought it for his John Deere x700 back in 2019. When we caught up with him recently, Doug shared some impressive projects he’s tackled with his loader and how it’s become his go-to tool for property maintenance.
The biggest task he’s completed so far? Installing a 30-foot swimming pool. “For that project alone, I had 12 yards of sand and 30 yards of soil delivered to my driveway, and I had to move it all to the backyard for landscaping,” Doug told us. “I was out there 4-5 hours every evening for four months straight, plus weekends. That was, by far, the largest project I’ve ever tackled with my Little Buck Loader.”
Now that his pool is finished, Doug relies on his Little Buck Loader for regular maintenance around his property. Each season, he uses it to lift and move the sand filter for his pool during opening and closing—a task that would otherwise require multiple hands and significant effort. And when it comes to unloading heavy items from his truck bed, Doug has found that he can use the center hook on his loader to run a chain, giving him the leverage to easily lift and move bulky items.
The loader also proves invaluable for tree clean-up and acts as a handy mobile tool box, carrying his saws, shovels, and other tools to wherever he’s working on the property.
“It’s honestly the best investment I could have made to save my back,” Doug says. “For the money, the Little Buck Loader is the most versatile attachment you can buy. The only limits are what your tractor itself can handle. I’ve never seen this loader strain, and with 500 pounds of ballast on the back, it still has the strength to lift my tractor’s rear wheels off the ground. I honestly feel like the loader could lift even more if the tractor could handle it.”
Looking ahead, Doug is planning a gravel driveway repair, and he’s counting on his Little Buck Loader to help with back dragging and leveling out the gravel. He’s even considering adding some bucket teeth for extra grip. “With a few enhancements, I’m sure this loader will perform flawlessly,” he says with confidence.
It’s stories like Doug’s that showcase just how versatile and durable the Little Buck Loader can be. Whether it’s moving tons of material, performing seasonal maintenance, or making heavy-lifting jobs easier, Doug has shown that this loader is built to meet every challenge head-on.
